Learn MoreKafue Child Development Agency (KCDA) is a child and youth-centred, non-profit making, non-religious, non-political, Non-Governmental Organisation, working to support vulnerable children and households of Kafue and Chilanga districts in the areas of education, health, safe water provision and household income improvement.
KCD Agency was formed in 2007 by merging the six Christian Children Fund’s affiliated projects namely, Kasaka, Kafue Central, Tithandizane, Wakame/Mungu, Mtengo and Mwembeshi. The merge was meant to broaden and deepen the impact of developmental projects on the wellbeing of the organisation’s beneficiaries.
The six merged community centres are now called Community Associations. The strategic direction was decided upon following an increase in the social and economic challenges among the underprivileged population in Kafue and Chilanga Districts which ranged from closure of manufacturing companies, high HIV/AIDS prevalence, and lack of adequate investment in critical areas of agriculture, education and health.
Our mission is to promote child and youth development by undertaking projects that eliminate the causes of child poverty. The organization seeks to leverage resources and capabilities by working with partners to ensure that the deprived, excluded and vulnerable Children are not marginalized.
Kafue Child Development Agency envisages communities in which children and youths have access to basic needs and are well protected from all forms of harm and abuse.
